About

Elisa Armstrong is an actor, writer and voice over artist based in Melbourne, Australia. She holds a BA (Hons) in Comparative Literature from Murdoch University and an MA in Acting from Drama Centre, London. She is the co-Artistic Director of Heartstring Theatre.

Elisa also trained at the Vakhtangov Institut (Moscow), the Globe Theatre (London), Anthony Meindl's Actor's Workshop (London) and RADA (London). Favourite roles whilst training include Arkadina in The Seagull (Vakhtangov Institut), and the title roles in Pericles (Globe Theatre) and Hedda Gabler.

Since graduating Elisa acted and co-wrote The Alchemist (Firehouse Creative), played Rosalind in As You Like It (Melbourne Fringe) and recently performed the title roles in Heartstring Theatre's Coriolanus and Marie Antoinette and Kaleria in Summerfolk (Burning House/Theatre Works). In 2021 she was in Heartstring’s Australian premiere of STILL by Jen Silverman and in 2022 played Rita in Little Eyolf, a Heartstring/Burning House co-production.

Film and TV work includes the award-winning The Kiss, Chasing Dreams, Acoustic Kitty and the ABC mini-series Seven Types of Ambiguity.

Elisa is an experienced voice over artist in all areas including animation, medical, corporate and commercial and has worked with BBC, Dove, Papermate, NBC, Bupa and Monocle 24.
